It is recommendable for authors to put a date on their works. In the case of paintings and drawings it is less difficult. On the work itself you can see who is the author. But in the case of, for example, a musical composition it is more difficult. It is for this reason that it is important to put a date on each part of the rough draft of the work.

In addition to this BIP provides the i-Envelope service as a solution. The author can use the i-Envelope for works that are not yet known to the public. The i-Envelope is a good means of recording the creation date of a work.
